What are Xtream Codes?
Xtream Codes is the most popular way to set up IPTV subscriptions. Instead of a long M3U link, you get three separate details: a server URL, a username and a password. Your IPTV app uses them to fetch all your channels, movies, series and the programme guide (EPG) automatically.
The big advantage over M3U: the EPG is linked automatically, your channel list stays up to date automatically, and you never have to upload a list.
What does an Xtream login look like?
- Server URL: e.g. http://your-server.com:8080 (sometimes with a port)
- Username: e.g. ab12345
- Password: e.g. xYz9876
You receive these details in your provider’s welcome email (at Pro IPTV this is right in the confirmation email after your order).
Using Xtream Codes in popular apps
- IPTV Smarters Pro: when opening, choose “Login with Xtream Codes” → fill in the 3 fields. Read our Smarters guide.

Common mistakes with Xtream Codes
- “Login failed”: usually a space or capitalisation error. Copy/paste works best.
- “Invalid credentials”: your subscription has expired or the username is wrong — check the email or ask your provider.
- Server unreachable: check that you entered the complete address including :8080 (or another port number).

Are Xtream Codes the same as M3U?
No — Xtream Codes is a login (URL + user + password), M3U is one long link. Xtream is handier: automatic EPG and an always up-to-date channel list.
Where do I find my Xtream Codes?
In the welcome email from your IPTV provider. Lost them? Request them again via your provider’s support.
Can I use Xtream Codes on multiple devices?
Often yes, but one device at a time per subscription. More simultaneous streams = extra connections with your provider.
