Which Philips type do you have?

Philips makes three kinds of smart TV software and the difference is big:

Android TV / Google TV — on most Philips TVs from recent years (Performance and Premium lines). Full Play Store, all IPTV apps possible.
Sita OS — newer budget Philips (2022+). Smart TV features but no Play Store: only the apps Philips offers.
Saphi OS — older budget Philips (±2015-2021). Same story: limited app store.

Android TV / Google TV: install IPTV

You recognize this type by the Play Store in the menu and “Google TV” or “Android TV” as the system name under Settings → Device. Then:

Open the Google Play Store on the TV.
Search for your IPTV app (e.g. TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro or IPTV Extreme).
Install and open the app.
Enter your Xtream Codes details or M3U URL from your IPTV provider.
Done — start channel hopping. 📺

Sita OS / Saphi: the honest story

These types don’t have a Play Store. IPTV apps like TiviMate or Smarters can’t be installed on them. The app selection is limited to what Philips offers and IPTV players often aren’t part of it.

Common mistakes on Philips

App found but won’t install: you probably have Sita/Saphi — check whether a Play Store exists on your TV.
Apps crash after update: restart the TV completely (unplug it, 30 sec).
No sound on some channels: set the audio output to Automatic in the TV settings.
