IPTV for seniors: easy setup without the stress

IPTV doesn’t have to be complicated. With a few good settings everything is ready: large text, fixed channels and one button to switch on the TV. This guide is written step by step, without technical terms.

Choose a device that is easy to use

The best IPTV app per device depends on what you are used to. For many seniors, a MAG box or Formuler box is ideal: you switch on the TV, the box starts up and you pick a channel with the remote control, just like before.

Set the channels and keep the order simple

Set up favourites in the app, for example NPO 1, NPO 2, RTL 4 and your local channel. That way you don’t have to scroll through hundreds of channels. In TiviMate you turn this on via Favourites; here you can read how to set up TiviMate.

Large text and a calm screen

Make the subtitles bigger in the app settings and choose a spacious EPG view. That way you can see at a glance what is on TV right now. Something not right? Solving EPG problems explains how to get your programme guide working again.

Common mistake: needing too much help to switch it on

Set the box or app to “always on” in the TV’s energy settings, and everything will be ready as soon as the TV is switched on. Sound or picture drop out? Solving no-picture issues and solving no-sound issues get you back up and running quickly.
