Setting up Hot IPTV on LG TV: complete guide (2026)

What is Hot IPTV?

Hot IPTV is the most popular IPTV player for LG Smart TVs (webOS). The app costs a small one-off amount, works with M3U links and Xtream Codes, and has a neat programme guide.

Step 1: Install Hot IPTV

1. Press the Home button on your LG remote.
2. Go to the LG Content Store (the shopping bag icon).
3. Search for “Hot IPTV” and choose Install.
4. Open the app — a page appears where you enter your code and playlist information.

Step 2: Add a playlist (M3U or Xtream)

1. In Hot IPTV choose M3U or Xtream Codes (whichever your provider supplies — usually you can use either).
2. For M3U, enter the playlist link (starts with http://). Read what this is in our M3U explanation.
3. For Xtream, enter the server URL, username and password. Explanation: Xtream Codes.
4. Choose Save — the app loads your channels and EPG.

Step 3: Activate

1. After adding your playlist, Hot IPTV asks for an activation code (or sends you to hotiptv.com).
2. Pay the small licence fee on the Hot IPTV site and enter your code.
3. The app is now fully active on your TV.

Troubleshooting Hot IPTV

• Channels not loading: restart the app and check that your playlist link is complete (long M3U links often break when copied).
• No sound: in the TV settings set the sound to PCM instead of Bitstream (a well-known LG issue).
• EPG empty or wrong: see our EPG guide.
• App slow: remove unused apps on your LG and restart the TV completely (unplug for 30 sec).
