Setting up STB Emu: emulating a MAG box on Android

What is STB Emu?

STB Emu (STB Emulator) is an app that mimics a MAG box on Android devices. Some IPTV providers work with portals (like MAG boxes) — with STB Emu you can use that portal on a regular Android box, phone or tablet too.

Installing STB Emu

1. Install STB Emu from the Google Play Store.
2. Open the app. The first time, you will be asked to enter a portal URL.

Setting up the portal

1. On the first start screen, enter the portal URL you received from us.
2. The app also asks for a MAC address — STB Emu generates this automatically. Write it down, because you will need it.
3. Check that your provider has linked the MAC address.
4. Choose the matching brand and model (e.g. MAG 250/254) and confirm.
5. The portal now loads the channels and the TV guide.

Adjusting the settings

• Open the settings menu (gear icon) → Profiles to choose a different portal later.
• Under Video you can adjust the decoder and buffer size when playback stutters.

Troubleshooting

• Portal not loading? Check that the MAC address is known to us and that the URL is correct.
• Black screen? Set the video decoder to software or hardware and test both.
• App keeps restarting? The free version is limited; some boxes ask for the full version.
